To maintain the safety and wellbeing of patients and staff, western Urology has implemented the following measures in response to the COVID-19 crisis:

  • Wherever possible, existing appointments will be conducted as telephone (audio) or telehealth (audio and video) consultations

  • Where a face to face consultation is necessary then this will be arranged directly with the patient

  • Minimisation of secretarial staff numbers to limit unnecessary patient/staff contact

  • Increased frequency of rooms cleaning

  • Increased availability of hand washing facilities and hand sanitiser for patients

  • All Urological referrals will be triaged according to medical priority

  • SafeWA check in facility

  • HEPA filters in waiting areas

  • Perspex screens at reception desks

  • Requirement to show vaccination status at check-in. It is preferred that unvaccinated patients are reviewed by telephone or telehealth consultation. If face to face review is deemed essential then unvaccinated patients will be seen at the end of the day to minimise risk to staff and other patients.
